Photographs are visual recording of past experiences. I believe that photography not only documents the past, but that it allows us to recall memories that are lost. When we look at a photograph, we see a memory that is no more. Photographs place reality into the past tense, representing not memory, but memory's loss. When one tries to retrieve the memories lost over time, fragments may be all that is left, but it is those fragments that have the potential to make new memories. --Kathleen Mitalski
